TraduCo’s interpreters are professional conference interpreters with degrees from Italy’s most prestigious interpreters’ schools. Conference interpreters use different modes of interpretation, depending on the type of meeting and working environment. |
| How TraduCo interpreters work |
|
Before
each job, the interpreter studies the meeting’s topic and
the technical terminology, preparing detailed glossaries.
Therefore, it is essential to her/him to have the
possibility to talk to the speakers beforehand (briefing day)
and receive all documents, speeches and abstracts in advance.
If you are planning to show a PowerPoint presentation or a
film, you must give it to the interpreter before the meeting
and if simultaneous interpreting is used you must talk to
the technician in order to arrange the booth so that the
interpreters can see the presentation too. |
| Simultaneous interpreting |
|
Simultaneous interpreting is most commonly used in
international conferences and is characterized by the
parallel act of interpreting and presentation going on at
the same time, i.e. as one person speaks, a listener can use
special headphones to hear the speech in his or her native
language. Performed in soundproof booths, simultaneous
interpreting ensures accurate, effective service in real
time. |
| Consecutive interpreting |
|
Consecutive interpreting is the ideal solution for meetings and seminars, in venues where the equipment for simultaneous interpreting is not available. The interpreter listens to the speech for about 5/10 minutes, takes notes and translates in sections. Only a microphone and notepad are needed. |
| Chuchotage (whispering) |
|
This type of translation is whispered in the ear of the listener and needs no technical equipment. This service can be provided only for a maximum of five people at a time. |
| Liaison interpreting |
|
Liaison interpreting is ideal for business meetings between two or more people. The translation can be done after a short speech, or consecutively, sentence-by-sentence, or as whispering. No equipment is used. |
